The year – 1947, or at least that was the time we were transported to.
It was an era when the Golden Age of Radio was most families’ primary form of entertainment and Nintendo Wii was the stuff of science fiction, a time when your imagination could run wild without influence or interruption.
We were part of the live studio audience at the CMTC studios – the John Hirsh Theatre at the MTC Mainstage – for the classic holiday production, It’s a Wonderful Life.
As a kid huddled around the family music box in the living room – the play instantly brought back memories of my youth. The best part about those old shows was how they drew you in with sound and now to see how those talented actors and sound effects crews were able to create them was truly a treat for the ears and eyes!
It was like I was a kid again, back in 1947, sitting there listening intently, my imagination running wild only to be brought back to reality with a jingle from a local sponsor (which were quite cleverly placed I might add) before being whisked away again.
