Big screens, big food and big fun!
It was NFL Sunday – I was in a city where I had no clue where to watch the game or a fellow fan to watch it with. Add that to the fact that I was here for a convention and you’ve got yourself one lonely sports fan.
I suppose I could’ve caught the game on the TV in the hotel lounge, but what kind of fun would that be? Besides the screen was so small I could barely make out the players on the field, let alone what the score was.
One of the women at the convention mentioned she and a bunch of other NFL fans were heading to a local Winnipeg fave called Tavern United to catch the games. A pub? Great another small TV and this one likely won’t have the volume up.
Well get to the Tavern and it is like a sports fan’s dream come true! There are giant flat screens just about everywhere you look -- so I could watch my team and keep tabs on the other games for my Fantasy Football pool at the same time.
There is also awesome pub-grub (at a great price), which is perfect if you’re looking for somewhere quick and inexpensive to grab a bite in between sessions and a huge selection of ales on tap for those post session gatherings or game day! My kind of sports place … in Winnipeg.
