Surrounded by serene calmness, I could hear each breath and feel the rhythm of every stride…
The route was recommended by a friend in my jogging club back home. She called it a joggers-delight, a great experience for anyone who prefers to run outside alongside nature.
And she was right. It was perhaps one of the most beautiful routes I have ever taken and it certainly beat the hotel gym treadmill.
My ritual Sunday jog started along the stately Wellington Crescent and extended west through the Assiniboine Park – a picturesque route closed off to traffic in the summer months.
A canopy of Elm trees lined the winding street protecting me from the sun, while joggers of all ages kept pace with their internal metronome.
Would I call it a joggers-delight? More like a joggers-paradise, in Winnipeg.
